Wayside Kids
The Aviary Kids’ Ministry is where we teach God’s Word in a fun, relevant, and applicable way. We want children to fall in love with Jesus and desire to know His Word. We provide an environment where kids can learn about the Bible, memorize scripture, worship, learn to live in community, and also live out their faith throughout the week. And we want to meet your child at their specific age and stage.
What goes on in your child’s class?
Newborns to Pre-Walkers
Our nursery is a safe place to drop off your little guy or girl. They will be well loved, prayed over, and changed (as needed) by one of our female nursery workers. Drop off your child before the worship service beginning at 9:50am, and then pick them up after the service at 11:30am. Please do not send food or drinks due to food allergy safety concerns.
Walkers to Pre-K
Our Sparrows check-in at the kids check-in table in the lobby before joining in on worship at the beginning of the service. This provides kids the opportunity to experience "big church" and worship with family. After worship (usually around 10:30am), the pastor will release the sparrows to their teachers who will then escort them to their class for a time of Bible teaching and games and activities that introduce and reinforce the Bible story time. Parents can pick them up following service (11:30am).
K - 1st Girls
K - 2nd Boys
Our Quails check-in at the kids check-in table in the lobby and then join their parents for worship. This provides kids the opportunity to experience "big church" and worship with family. After worship (usually around 10:30am), the quails will be released to their teachers who will then escort them to their class for a time of Bible teaching and games and activities that introduce and reinforce the Bible story time. Parents can pick them up following service (11:30am).
2nd - 4th Girls
3rd - 4th Boys
Our older elementary kids check-in at the kids check-in table in the lobby and then join the rest of our Church family for worship at the beginning of the service. This provides kids the opportunity to experience "big church" and worship with family. After worship (usually around 10:30am), the pastor will release them for a time of Bible teaching and games and activities that introduce and reinforce the Bible story time. Parents can pick them up following service (11:30am).
Safety Policies
The safety of your children is a high priority. All of our volunteers have been thoroughly screened and background checked. When you check in your children at the Wayside Kids check-in table, you will receive a claim tag with a code that will match your child's tag. You may walk them to their classroom when you drop them off (or to the cafeteria if they are preschoolers). When you pick them up, you will hand your claim tag to a children’s worker at the pick-up table in the lobby and they will get your child and bring them to you. If you misplace your tag, be sure to have your ID handy.
Also, we don’t provide snacks due to the risk of food allergies/preferences. We want to help all parents feel comfortable and keep kids safe.
