We are celebrating Easter this year by revisiting 1 Corinthians 1:18-25. Ultimately, every human must decide if the Resurrection is fact or a matter of foolishness.
"Our Living Hope" (Easter 2023)
Because Jesus lives, we can live hopefully. Biblically speaking, hope isn’t mere wishful thinking; it’s a firm conviction about the future. Today’s passage is 1 Peter 1:3-5. It’s part of Peter’s introduction to a letter sent to suffering saints. In it, the apostle encourages his fellow Christ-followers to stand firm in the hope of Christ, which is solid and secure.
"The Triumph Of Christ" (Palm Sunday 2023)
God is gracious, and He knows that when we fail to see our suffering in the light of the Gospel, we will be susceptible to doubt and despair and the Devil’s deceptive influence. Today’s big idea is simple: The Gospel is the good news of God’s triumph over sin and suffering.
"Proof of Payment" (Easter 2022)
The crucifixion constituted a once-and-for-all payment for sin. But the resurrection is and always will be our proof of payment. Without Easter Sunday, Good Friday would be no good at all. But the resurrected Christ did indeed conquer sin and death, so we can live with peace and hope by trusting in Him. Otherwise, we would have no basis for peace with God and the hope of eternal life.
1 Peter 1:3-5 - "Our Living Hope" (Easter 2020)
If Jesus is alive, we can live with hope. But Christian hope is not wishful thinking. It is a firm conviction about the future. In today’s passage, Peter makes it clear that our hope in Christ is both solid and secure.
"Paid in Full" (Easter 2019)
As believers our debt is paid in full through the sacrifice and resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
